1987 - bad snowstorm, on the way home in rural Maryland where I lived. Toyota 4WD longbed. The 4WD light lit up, but the truck wasn’t quite in 4WD despite the hubs being locked (manually). Coming down a hill I was suddenly hanging by the seatbelt staring down at the road through the passenger-side window. A couple good ol’ boys in an F150 helped me push it back onto its wheels, and I drove it home. $1600 later (and junkyard mirror) it was as good as new.
